The Geometrinae or Emerald Moths sub-family of moths are a collection of over 2,300 named species in which several possess a common name containing the word Emerald, naturally alluding to their predominantly green color.

The Emerald Moths are primarily tropical, and but populations are distributed throughout Europe, Great Britain and the North Africa, with the largest concentrations in the Near East.
