Golden Beryl

Golden Beryl is a gemstone that belongs to the beryl class of minerals and possesses an intense lemon or gold yellow color that comes from iron and minerals containing uranium. This sunny yellow color helped inspire the name Heliodor which is often used as the name for this gem; however some consider golden beryl and heliodor as distinctly different types of beryls. Golden beryl has characteristics similar to those of aquamarine with very few inclusions and can be found in Namibia, Brazil and Madagascar. Heliodor, which is also a name used for Golden Beryl, is a greenish or brownish yellow color. It also gets its color from iron and minerals containing uranium. It is commercially exploited in Russia, Namibia, and Brazil.
