Carolina Emerald

The Carolina Emerald is a famous 13.14 emerald originally discovered in 1970 at the Rist Mine near Hiddenite, North Carolina. It was then purchased by Tiffany and Co., and has been appraised at over $100,000. Cut in a traditional emerald style, it sat on display until the discovery of the Carolina Queen, an even larger emerald of significantly better quality was discovered from the same mine in 1998.
