Isabella Emerald

Once in the possession of the Great Aztec Emperor Montezuma, and later taken by the Spanish conquistador Hernan Cortes, the 964-carat Isabella Emerald was lost in a shipwreck as it made its way back to Spain, only to be relocated by treasure hunters in 1993 along with numerous other treasures including the largest known emerald matrix, itself weight in at over 25-thousand carats.
